Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Turnemin (“Turnemin,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Turnemin application. It explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account or use Turnemin, we may collect information that you provide, including:

Turnemin does not currently ask users to provide a date of birth, street address, telephone number, contacts list or precise GPS location.

2. Golf and Tournament Information

Turnemin stores information necessary to operate tournaments and calculate and display results. This may include tournament names and dates, course and tee information, Handicap Index, Course Handicap, gross and net scores, net-to-par results, participation status and final tournament standings.

Certain tournament information is preserved as part of the historical tournament record. For example, completed tournament results, scores, standings and champion information may remain associated with the tournament even if a participant later leaves the tournament or closes an account.

3. Information Visible to Other Tournament Participants

Turnemin is designed as a shared tournament experience. Depending on the tournament and its status, other authorized tournament participants may be able to see information such as your:

Score visibility may depend on whether you have submitted your own score for a particular round and on the status of the tournament.

Your account email address is not intended to be displayed as part of your participant profile or tournament roster.

4. Photos, Audio and Other Content

Turnemin may allow you to submit optional content associated with your profile or tournament participation.

Profile photographs are stored using public-file storage and may be accessible to someone who obtains the file URL.

Optional scorecard photographs and Handicap Index screenshots are stored using private-file storage. These images are supporting information and are not used to automatically determine or validate your score or Handicap Index.

Turnemin may also allow you to record an optional short post-round audio statement. These recordings are stored privately and may become available to authorized tournament participants according to the tournament's score-reveal rules.

You may also submit Press Room comments and other tournament-related content.

5. How We Use Information

We use information collected through Turnemin to:

6. Golf Course Data and OpenGolfAPI

Turnemin uses OpenGolfAPI to assist with golf course searches and course and tee information.

When you perform a course search, the search query may be sent to OpenGolfAPI. Turnemin does not send your name, email address, Handicap Index or golf score to OpenGolfAPI as part of that course-search request.

Course information returned through OpenGolfAPI is provided as a convenience and should be verified by the golfer before submitting a score.

Course data attribution is provided within Turnemin.

7. Account and Authentication Services

Turnemin is built using Base44 services. Base44 provides infrastructure used for functions including account registration, authentication, email verification, password reset, sessions, data storage and file storage.

Turnemin does not maintain its own separate password database. Authentication information is handled through Base44's authentication services.

Google sign-in may also be available through Base44's authentication system.

Base44 may process information according to its own privacy practices and policies.

8. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Turnemin may use browser storage, cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for authentication, session management, application preferences and functionality.

Turnemin does not currently use app-level advertising trackers, third-party advertising pixels or advertising analytics systems.

The underlying Base44 platform may use additional cookies, logs, telemetry or similar technologies as part of providing and securing its services.

9. Notifications

Turnemin may maintain preferences relating to score and Press Room notifications or unread activity.

The current version of Turnemin does not provide native push-notification delivery. Notification functionality may change as the service develops.

10. Payments

Turnemin does not currently collect or process payments from users through the application and does not currently collect payment-card information.

If payment functionality is introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate to describe how payment information is processed.

11. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate Turnemin, maintain tournament records, provide the service, meet legal obligations and protect the integrity of tournament results.

Some historical tournament information may be retained after a user leaves a tournament or closes an account, including player names, scores, standings and champion records, where necessary to preserve an accurate historical record of the tournament.

The historical record may also retain the player name and profile photograph that appeared in the tournament at the time.

12. Account Deletion and Privacy Requests

You may contact us to request deletion of your account or to make a request concerning your personal information.

Certain information that forms part of the historical record of a tournament may be retained after an account is deleted, including player names, scores, standings and champion records, where necessary to preserve the accuracy and integrity of tournament results.

Uploaded media is handled separately from your account. Profile photographs are stored using public-file URLs and may remain accessible through those URLs after deletion. Scorecard photographs, Handicap Index screenshots and audio statements are stored privately, may remain associated with retained tournament records, and remain available only under the same authorization and tournament visibility rules described in this Policy.

13. Data Security

We use the security and access-control features available through Turnemin's underlying technology providers and take reasonable steps designed to protect information from unauthorized access or disclosure.

However, no internet service or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.

14. Children's Privacy

Turnemin is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected through the service, we will take appropriate steps to address it.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Turnemin may evolve over time. We may update this Privacy Policy when features, data practices, third-party services or legal requirements change.

When we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date and may provide additional notice when appropriate.
